STRENGTH DEVELOPMENT-BASICS

              Muscles  respond and develop according to the type of demands made on them as per the ability of an athlete's muscles to grip, lift,push,or pull.The maximum resistance is called maximum strength,this is the basic component of strength qualities on which other components,explosive strength,strength endurance, and relative strength are developed. Based on the type, duration,intensity,direction of pull/push,bio-mechanical specificity these qualities as per the demands of the game/sports can be developed.It is up to the coaches to define the sports skills; determine the strength type requirements and design the strength training program for an athlete/tennis player/a decathlete etc.
