ON COURT MELTDOWN-AN ETIOLOGY

OCM:-On Court Meltdown during high voltage competition may be due to the acyclic nature of competitive tennis,the eccentric thrust on the body as a result of surface friction,the steely will to win, an unsurmountable opponent,a kind of grinding movement all can result in a situation of ''ON COURT MELTDOWN'' There may be a symptom of referred pain,with out any outward symptoms of injury.This is a natural process of humans' excitatory/inhibitory mechanism based on fight or flight syndrome.Coaches/parents should be aware of this phenomenon and handle such situation with compassion and refrain from pushing any further.In major tournaments RULES MAY BE MADE WITH PROVISIONS FOR SUCH SITUATIONS.Such players should be put on recovery mode, fixing should be aimed at the basic causes rather than symptamatic and should be focused to gain the stability of main core,corrective interventions in stroke mechanics,appropriate lifestyle modifications,adequate rest, etc

COMMUNITY SPORTS,PEACE AND TRANQUIL: Sports and exercises linked with peace and tranquil in a society.Participating in sports provides a person with an opportunity to satisfy his aggressive tendencies.This situation is linked with the anthropological factors,being HOMOSAPIENS which is inherent in him/her. In some cultures these tendencies are getting acquired during the growth process due to certain situations created by regional conflicts,certain type of religious indoctrination,and in consequently poverty/gullibility related factors
       This kind of acquired aggression is more rampant in under developed/developing nations and in certain cases, though affluent governments failed in providing adequate  sports facilities/leadership in sports.It is important for governments,corporate organizations,educational institutions should understand the exercise psychological need and plan in advance and execute proper policies/programs,develop infrastructure,skilled manpower to manage this process,so that future problems can be averted,peace and tranquil will become a reality.

TENNIS SPECIFIC EXPLOSIVE STRENGTH

TSE Strength:  It is an individual's muscle contractile quality which enables to play tennis with blistering, high velocity fore/back hands and booming serves.This quality can be assessed and trained by using multiple throws using medicine balls[2kg for 70 kg tennis athlete]-with appropriate angle,simulating the serve,fore/back hand sequence involving all the relevant joint segments with progressive velocity.

    This is a quality to be trained after developing maximum,relative strength qualities or may lead to joint laxity,proneness to injuries and decline in performance.SO FOR A BOOMING SERVE develop TSE STRENGTH. Do have a question ,please ask.

TENNIS SPECIFIC RELATIVE STRENGTH

T S R STRENGTH: It is a quality in which an individual  can play more number of strokes with ease and comfort with out committing errors and getting hurt/exhausted. Generally relative strength is the ability of the person to exert against resistance in relation to his body weight. An easy way to test this factor[in tennis specific situation] is to make a player to perform continuous ''clap floor push ups''. One who does more will be generally good at this factor, this can be assessed in a group by seeing their body weight.Lesser the body weight better the relative strength.So more number of ''clap floor push ups''  by  a tennis player is a vital factor to be developed along with other factors like skills,general endurance etc.

STRENGTH DEVELOPMENT-BASICS

              Muscles  respond and develop according to the type of demands made on them as per the ability of an athlete's muscles to grip, lift,push,or pull.The maximum resistance is called maximum strength,this is the basic component of strength qualities on which other components,explosive strength,strength endurance, and relative strength are developed. Based on the type, duration,intensity,direction of pull/push,bio-mechanical specificity these qualities as per the demands of the game/sports can be developed.It is up to the coaches to define the sports skills; determine the strength type requirements and design the strength training program for an athlete/tennis player/a decathlete etc.

Not able to get service points? Know these aspects ,Service effectiveness is the capacity of the player to serve to the opponents weakness,which needs accuracy,spin,velocity and kick.
To master these qualities your training sessions may include
1,Sub-maximal but continuous effort [repetitions/serving]
2,To the point of exhaustion.
3,Incorporating any or all of the above factors[accuracy,spin,velocity,kick-as per the case need may be]
