CAN A TECHNICAL FLAW WHICH MAY SEND A KID TO INJURY LAYOFF------YES

Last week I had a kind of evaluation visit  to a tennis center where my student is a chief  coach, and we have found that students as young as 12 and 14 hit very hard''HARD'' serves and often miss it too, and then they change the stance, toss and modifify serve swing, and end in a weak second serve, This is a concept error, AT THIS STAGE OF LIFE, thay fail to realize the IMPORTANCE OF EFFECTIVE SERVICE, IS THE ONE HIT TO THE OPPONENTS WEAKNESS.These kids never realize that perpectual hard hitting can land them is shoulder injuries,as well as the bio-mechnical difference the first and second serves increases the  probability of  delivering poor/ineffective serves.

HOW TO FIX IT. 1,Students should be taught all  types of services,FLAT,SLICE,TOP SPIN. with equal importance and duration.
2,Use appropriate MULTIPLE TYPE OF THROWING EXERCISES to reduce the throwing impact on any particular joint./group of muscles.
3,Should be taught how to PROGRESSIVELY  increase and reach the peak at the point of impact during serve.
4,Enhance the stability  of support  from the toss to point contact.

THESE ARE PRETTY IMPORTANT, OR A PLAYER MAY RETIRE PREMATURE,

DESENSITISE CHILDREN TO ON LOOKERS' '' NEGETIVE COMMENTS''

OBSTRUCTIVE CONGESTED SERVICE TOSS AND BACK SWING MAY PROVE FATAL FOR TOP LEVEL MATCHES.:- Players may have to start a point with perfect, relaxed and with a free mind, any congested and obstructive thoughts will reduce the effectiveness of your service besides drain your capacity to handle the return of your service. Today I have seen a top player suffer from this "HYPER SELF CONSCIOUS BEHAVIOUR" and lost her match. How to fix it.This is absolutely a performance psychological situation. Appropriate expertise may have to be used. As a general advise children at the early stages of training should be given adequate chances to "desensitise" themselves to "negative comments" like poor back swing, kind of comments.

JOINT LAXITY OFTEN MIMICS AS A JOINT INJURY.

JOINT LAXITY OFTEN MIMICS  AS A JOINT INJURY.:- JOINT LAXITY is a situation develops in a joint due to several reasons, mainly do to static stretches performed on the joint with odd angles of pull/push.,  Over loading on the particular joint due to some faulty training situation like ''EXCESSIVE FRICTION ''of the playing surface may have a direct impact on the knee joint when ever there is a twisting movement involving the ''UPPER BODY TORQUE'' Or while while you play your shot with your hips strained in a horizantal plane [due to not flexing both the knees evenly] for a low ball in Tennis.

IN TRACK TRAINING SITUATIONS NEWLY LAID SYNTHETIC TRACK AND NEW SHOE SPIKE NAILS[LONG AND SHARP] WILL CREATE A ''ACUTE-ODD GRIP'' WITH THE TRACK FOR EVERY STRIDE AND THIS WILL RESULT IN a feeling of a apparant looseness in the joint. THIS IS A NEURO-MUSCULAR ADAPTATION and appropriate ISOMETRIC EXERCISES WILL REVERSE THE SITUATION. WITH AVOIDANCE OF LAXITY CAUSING SITUATION. I guess this applied injury causing situation is not well documented in that AREA OF  SPORTS MEDICAL THERAPY.

SITUATIONS WHICH HAMPERS THE IMPROVEMENT IN PERFORMANCE

There are several aspects contributes to this situation, I will list the prime, and most important to the least.
1. EARLY STAGES OF TRAINING DURING THE FORMATIVE YEARS LACKS TOTALITY OR NOT WELL COVERED WITH ALL THE ASSOCIATED MOTOR PAREMETERS[MULTI GAME SKILLS] CONNECTED WITH TENNIS.
2. TRAINING ON TENNIS SKILLS LIKE FH,BH ,VOLLEY,OR RARE SHOTS LIKE ROUND ARM OVERHEAD,BH OVERHEAD,OR A SOFT TOUCH DROP SHOT.IS NOT GIVEN ITS DUE IMPORTANCE,[NUNBER OF SHOTS PRACTICED] AT ALL THE STAGES OF TRAINING

3. BASIC ATHLETIC SKILLS TO DEVELOP QUALITIES LIKE
SPEED,STRENGTH,ENDURANCE,MOBILITY --NOT GIVEN ITS DUE PLACE IN TRAINING.

4.TOO MUCH IMPORTANCE GIVEN TO TRAINING GADGETS,INVOLVING ISOLATED MUSCLES/ GROUPS, AND FORGETTING THE FACT THAT EVERY SHOT IN TENNIS NEEDS WHOLE BODY INVOLVEMENT

5. SURFACE OF PLAY AND ITS FRICTION, AND ITS ADVERSE IMPACT  IS NOT WELL DOCUMENTED,ARE NOT IN THE ACCESS TO TENNIS FRATERNITY FOR REMEDIAL INTERVENTIONS, THIS IS THE CAUSE FOR TOO MANY INJURIES AND PREMATURE EXITS FROM COMPETITIVE TENNIS.
6.MODALITIES OF RECOVERY AFTER TRAINING/COMPETITIONS, NOT MANAG
7.POOR PSYCHOLOGICAL MANAGEMENT OF THE SITUATION.AFTER A CRITICAL LOSS.
